My name is Connie Gensler. I'm a registered nurse with 19 years of experience in various healthcare settings from clinics, long-term care facilities and hospitals. My passion rests in working with the elderly population, specifically those suffering with Alzheimer's Disease. I received my Associate Degree in Nursing from Northcentral Technical College in 1985, my Gerontology Certification from UW Superior in 1995 my Bachelor of Science Nursing from Viterbo University and Masters in Education from UW Stout. For the past 9 years I have been with Nicolet College, first teaching in and coordinating the Nursing Assistant Program and later, teaching medical terminology via ITV and online. In June 2000, I became an academic advisor for students interested in health occupations programs. With health occupations programs being some of the leading occupations in the Nation, the advising of students has grown immensely. As a teacher, my commitment is to students and how they learn. I like to encourage cooperative learning environments and student-faculty interaction (while respecting diverse talents and ways of learning) that explore and test to get to the knowledge and provide personal meaning back to the student that may transform their life. As an advisor for the health occupations programs my commitment is to provide students with the information needed to make sound educational decisions. Outside of teaching and spending time with my family, my hobbies include traveling, reading, boating, and being active in my community. Back to the Nicolet College Home Page Last Updated 1/6/2007
